Christine McCarty is an artist residing in Florida. Her recent work combines drawing, etching, transfers, and collaged images to transform figurative imagery and create new avenues for discourse with an interest in temptation, pleasure, sensuality, and irreverence as the points of departure. Through the fetishizing of the figure and by examining the modern assertion that physical qualities are intertwined with desirability, she restructures these images to blur the line between the revered and impure.
When she isn’t drawing, she can usually be found teaching, designing, or gardening.
